Birthed with love
I'm a birth photographer and birth doula from Wollongong.
The intimate art of birth photography is much more complex than simply taking photos of birth. My job as your birth photographer is to capture the raw and intimate moments of your birth and the first memories of your baby's life.
Birth Photographer & Doula
I want you to have a positive and inspiring birth story that is filled with love, happiness and support.
Birthed With Love By Karlee was born from discovering the benefits of having a trained support person with you during labour and birth. This is reducing the number of women suffering from birth trauma and post-natal depression. I empower you with the confidence to advocate for yourself and facilitate consent by creating space for you to make your own informed decisions; giving you the confidence to have your dream birth.
I have a passion for natural birthing and I teach techniques that can be used during labour to assist with the natural birth process because I want you to have a positive and inspiring birth story that is filled with love, happiness and support.
My job as your doula is to inspire you to feel empowered and confident in your birth journey by providing education and guidance. I teach you techniques that can be used during labour to assist with the natural birthing process.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
I have always had a strong driving passion for mothers and babies throughout my whole life. It first started off when my godmother had her beautiful firstborn Zali. I was over as much as I could to help support her and look after Zali.
I was able to learn so much about all the milestones that babies go through and I found my passion in life. I was able to do the same with her second born Koa and they have made such a massive impact on my life.
It wasn’t until my mums’ best friend reached out to me and asked if I wanted to study a Doula course with her, that I even knew what a doula was!
I was absolutely over the moon, filled with excitement as I knew that this is exactly what I wanted to do.
This is where I was able to learn all about pregnancy and birth. Through this experience, I learned about how damaging post-natal trauma can be to the mother and her family. I learned all about the hospital system and how medicalised birth is nowadays. This ignited my passion for women’s rights during birth, giving them a voice and allowing them to give birth in a way that feels natural to them, with love.
